Eddy has over 20 years of experience in wealth management and financial planning. He began his career as an external auditor and subsequently worked as a Finance Manager in a listed company in the food manufacturing industry. Following that, he spent three years in insurance sales with Prudential before becoming one of the founding members of Providend in 2001. Providend is the first and only fee-only advisory firm in Southeast Asia.
For the next 17 years, Eddy held the role of Head of Financial Planning before transiting to become the Head of DIYInsurance, Providend’s fintech business unit, in 2016. DIYinsurance was Singapore’s first life insurance comparison web portal, providing insurance services to the mass market. It later formed a joint venture with NTUC Enterprise Co-operative Limited to form MoneyOwl in 2018.
Eddy spent the next two years as Chief Advisory Officer of MoneyOwl, where he played a key role in establishing and training the advisory team to deliver bionic advisory services through its robo-advisory platforms. He was also responsible in co-developing MoneyOwl’s four robo-advisory platforms in insurance, investment, will-writing and the first-of-its-kind comprehensive financial planning.
Prior to pioneering Havend, Eddy returned to Providend in 2020 to lead the Solutions Team, focusing on deepening thought leadership content in bespoke wealth planning and insurance services for the affluent and high-net-worth segments.
With over two decades of experience in prioritising clients’ interests, Eddy will lead Havend in providing unbiased insurance advice for all.
Mike embarked on his financial advisory journey at Phillip Securities nine years ago with the intention of helping people better understand the importance of financial planning.
During his five-year tenure there, he discovered that many clients lacked an understanding of their insurance needs and the insurance plans they had bought. He then began educating his clients and soon developed a deep interest in insurance advisory. This interest eventually led him to join an international broker firm, where he further enhanced his knowledge and experience through understanding various insurance products from different countries.
Before joining Havend, Mike was a part of Providend’s Solutions Team as an Insurance Specialist, providing clients with assurance through sound insurance advice and detailed reviews of their insurance portfolios. Mike also regularly reviewed and updated the Providend Insurance framework to ensure its relevance and alignment with Providend’s wealth planning philosophy.
He strongly believes that one can only focus on life’s important priorities without the fear of losing them, after having put in place the right insurance plans.
David has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies majoring in Finance and has three years of experience in the financial services and life insurance industry. His passion lies in coaching and advising clients on tailored, fit-for-purpose solutions. Previously a client adviser focused on comprehensive financial planning for the man on the street, David now brings his expertise to Havend, poised to continue making a meaningful impact.
Passionate about serving and a making a difference in Singapore’s security, Jiamin spent more than a decade of her career managing defence acquisition and development projects in the public sector.
In 2022, Jiamin joined the insurance industry, hoping to make a more direct and positive impact on individuals’ lives. As an Insurance Operations Executive at Havend, she ensures that your policy administration and servicing are in good hands, contributing to your financial security and peace of mind.
